The GloMEEP project is a cooperative UN initiative to assist developing countries in the uptake and implementation of energy efficiency measures for shipping, with the aim of reducing GHG emissions and preventing air pollution from ships. Environmental Ship Index (ESI) still going strong

According to Manfred Lebmeier, ESI Bureau Director, 7,049 ships are registered and 53 incentive providers, as of October 1, 2018.
