Solomon Islands is in Oceania lying to the east of Papua New Guinea and northwest of Vanuatu. The Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) was established in 1956 and is responsible for the operation of the ports of Honiara and Noro. There are two berths for international and seven jetties in domestic wharf area in Honiara. There is only one berthing wharf for all shipping vessels – international and domestic in Noro.
