Two Port Endeavor training sessions took place over the week of 5 February in the Netherlands at the ports of Scheveningen and Rotterdam. On 5 February, IAPH policy and IMO liaison officer Rhona Macdonald, together with IAPH technical director Antonis Michail, facilitated a Port Endeavor training session for the core managing team of Scheveningen Harbor followed by a workshop to set the foundations of the port’s vision on sustainability. On 8 February, Antonis again, together with IAPH communications director Victor Shieh, and IAPH director business development, Nick Blackmore facilitated a second Port Endeavor training for the fifty plus managers of the sustainability department of the Port of Rotterdam (pictured). The gameplay was followed by a dedicated workshop where participants were asked to address real Port of Rotterdam challenges using the Port Endeavor set-up and approach. Both game sessions offered tailor-made sustainability training to fit the needs of very diverse ports in their characteristics and size.
