Appointed by the IAPH Board (President and Vice Presidents),Dr. Masahiko Furuichi has officially taken office as IAPH Secretary General, succeeding Mr. Susumu Naruse, as of 1 September. As many of you know, your new Secretary General Dr. Masahiko Furuichi is not new to IAPH. Since 2006, he has played an active part in the Association, attending numerous IAPH meetings and conferences, and most notably serving as Vice Chair of IAPH Port Planning and Development Committee since 2007.As entrusted

According to Manfred Lebmeier, ESI Bureau Director, 7,732 ships are registered and 56 incentive providers, as of July 1, 2019. Borth registered ships and Incentive providers increased from 7,452 to 7,732 (+280) and from 56 to 57 (+) respectively compared to April 1, 2019. IAPH Vice President Masaharu Shinohara and Secretary General Susumu Naruse were invited by PIANC to make a presentation at the PIANC’s Annual General Assembly, 3-7 June, Kobe, Japan. PIANC is the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure established in 1885 and based in Brussels, Belgium.
