Share your experience on extreme weather events

More than 40 ports worldwide have already responded to the IAPH-PIANC survey on extreme weather events. This is encouraging, but we’d like to invite more ports to share information on the consequences and costs of extreme meteorological and/or oceanographic events. The survey includes questions on port or waterway closures, delays and downtime, and on clean up, maintenance, damage repair and other measures. According to Manfred Lebmeier, ESI Bureau Director, 7,732 ships are registered and 56 incentive providers, as of July 1, 2019. Borth registered ships and Incentive providers increased from 7,452 to 7,732 (+280) and from 56 to 57 (+) respectively compared to April 1, 2019. IAPH represented at PIANC’s AGA 2019 in Kobe

IAPH Vice President Masaharu Shinohara and Secretary General Susumu Naruse were invited by PIANC to make a presentation at the PIANC’s Annual General Assembly, 3-7 June, Kobe, Japan. PIANC is the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure established in 1885 and based in Brussels, Belgium. PIANC is one of IAPH’s friendly organizations with whom IAPH concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation. At the assembly held on 5 May, Secretary General Naruse outlined IAPH’
