IAPH colleagues participate in lively APEC training

In early December, IAPH colleagues and members participated in an intensive live week of training run by the APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center. Held 8-12 December, the sessions saw the in-person conclusion of two blended learning courses that had begun with online training in November. IAPH strategy and communications director Victor Shieh (pictured) participated at a Port Endeavor gameplay session – part of a tailor-made manager training course organised for the national training institute OFPPT, which delivers training for port professionals, with a focus on youth, at Moroccan port authorities. Meanwhile, IAPH development director for the Central and South America region Guimara Tuñón Guerra and Kailash Dhunoo, senior manager – technical services at regular member Mauritius Port Authority, participated in the first edition of APEC’s Energy Transition course, which offered valuable insights into industrial decarbonisation, the circular economy and energy infrastructure. The live training reinforced the learning objectives of both courses by showcasing real-life applications, operational practices and strategic challenges within the port and energy ecosystem.
