IAPH colleagues based in Athens, Antwerp, Brussels, London and Plymouth convened on 24-25 June to discuss strategic priorities for the rest of 2025. The two-day meeting took place at IAPH’s shared office with the British Ports Association at 30 Park Street on the South Bank in London. Among the issues discussed by the seven Europe-based team members were regional membership outreach, areas of strategic focus arising from the recent IAPH World Ports Tracker 2025 – sustainability and market trends report, the growing World Port Sustainability Program project database, the IAPH Sustainability Awards, the organisation’s advocacy at the IMO (including the coming extraordinary session of MEPC in October), the program for World Ports Conference in Kobe in October, the forthcoming output Clean Marine Fuels (CMF) working group and future plans for the Port Readiness Level (PRL) tool as well as the IAPH Insider newsletter. During the busy two-day meeting, the team also found time to hold a mid-year membership update meeting with Indian members and deliver the latest #IAPH2025 webinar examining the impacts of AI and quantum quantum on port security.
