WPCI LNG Working Group gets new chair

Mr. Peter Alkema, Port of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has replaced Ms.Tessa Major as Chair of the Working Group. Under the new chairmanship of Mr. Alkema, the working group will meet in Amsterdam, October 2 & 3, 2017.During the meeting the Working Group will discuss the overall work that yet is to be done, such as LNG bunker checklists and WPCI LNG website. Sub working group 2 would be dealing with risk perimeters for the transfer of LNG as a bunker fuel. If you are interested, just send an e-ma

Environmental Ship Index (ESI) to evaluate CO2 performance

From July 1, 2017, the Environmental Ship Index (ESI) started evaluating performance in the field of CO2. Until then, only the environmental performance of ships on emissions of air pollution (NOx and SOx) were assessed. This makes the index the first sustainable quality mark in international shipping that includes the performance and, more particularly, the reduction in CO2 in its assessment.
