On 28 October, 2026, IAPH secretary general Masahiko Furuichi spoke at the Spain Economy Seminar ‘Unlocking the Future of European Logistics – Port of Algeciras’, held at the Embassy of Spain in Tokyo. Masahiko shared insights on international maritime transport networks, alongside keynote addresses by His Excellency Íñigo de Palacio España, ambassador of Spain to Japan, and Gerardo Landaluce, president, Algeciras Port Authority. The event highlighted the port’s crucial role as a southern European hub connecting Europe, Africa, and global trade routes.
