The Cook Islands Ports Authority (CIPA) is a government-owned statutory corporation responsible for managing, developing, and coordinating maritime ports across the Cook Islands. CIPA plays a vital role in supporting the country’s trade, tourism, transportation, and economic development by ensuring safe, efficient, reliable, and sustainable port operations.
CIPA manages the Cook Islands’ principal ports, including Avatiu Port in Rarotonga, the country’s main international gateway for cargo, passenger vessels, and cruise ships, and Arutanga Port in Aitutaki, which supports tourism, fisheries, and local commerce.
