ESI Core webinar: what ports need to know

OceanScore, the administrator of Environment Ship Index (ESI), has organised a dedicated webinar for port users to explain upcoming changes to the scheme. Held on Monday June 15 at 10.00 CEST, the webinar will present the key development areas of ESI Core, outline the transition process, and answer any questions that users may have. ESI is undergoing its most ambitious evolution to date with the advent of ESI Core – also known as ESI 2.0. Due to come online on 1 January 2027, ESI Core introduces updates to reflect today’s shipping realities and an evolving regulatory landscape, raising the bar for environmental practices to new, yet realistic heights. The updated methodology strengthens incentives for measures that actively contribute to lower emissions, including cleaner fuels and technologies such as wind-assisted propulsion, air lubrication, or the use of onshore power. IAPH members can register for this free webinar here. If you have further questions, please email IAPH’s contact points for ESI at OceanScore: Thomas Smith (ESI Core discussions, methodology implications, webinars) and André Silva (operational and portal-related questions).
