A record number of members attended the 2026 IAPH Technical Committee Days last week at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. The ‘TC’ Days – opened by Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India – were held 22-24 April and attracted attendees from across the globe, with notable delegations from India, West and Central Africa and Australia. After an opening plenary session that explored the results of the 2026 IAPH World Ports Tracker and the concept of an IAPH mentoring scheme, there followed a series of parallel thematic sessions – these were all very well attended and saw increased levels of interactivity and collaboration, with Wärtsilä providing sponsorship for sessions in the Data Collaboration / Risk & Resilience stream. A summary document of all the sessions will be made available on the IAPH Members Area. Evening receptions at the Fullerton Bay and Conrad Singapore Marina Bay hotels offered an opportunity for relaxed networking in surroundings that showcased the best of Singapore. Outside of the committee day events, members also took the opportunity to meet with business contacts exhibiting during Singapore Maritime Week. Delegates can view extensive photos from the first day’s plenary and breakout sessions – as well as coverage of the networking at the conference centre and the evening reception – on IAPH’s dedicated Flickr page.
