Yesterday, IAPH and Mercator held the first #IAPH2026 webinar of the year, counting down to the World Ports Conference in November with a series of six free online deep-dives into industry hot topics. This first webinar focused on climate resilience – one of the fastest growing risks to physical supply chains – and it’s already available on demand. IAPH’s Chloe Rowland was joined by a panel comprising Katharine Palmer (Climate Champions team), Kelvin Kinyosi Nyambegera (Kenya Ports Authority) and Ekaitz López Amurrio (Bilbao Port), with contributions from Niels Van Laer, chairman of the IAPH Risk & Resilience Committee and harbour master of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. If you weren’t able to attend, you missed an insightful discussion of the decision-making processes and technologies that can effectively mitigate hazards resulting from climate change – but you can catch up with the recording here and see the full listing for this year’s series here. The next webinar – titled ‘Universal datasets and cyber-resilient standards: a blueprint for efficient, secure ports’ – will be held at 10.00 CEST / 17.00 JST on 1 April. Registration will open soon.
