Join our technical committee day in Kobe

On 6 October, the day prior to its World Ports Conference in Kobe, Japan, IAPH will be holding a series of in-person thematic working sessions of its technical committees, addressing key topics of interest. The sessions will be held at Hotel Ōkura (pictured below) and all interested regular and associate members are encouraged to register their attendance at the sessions by completing the registration form. A draft agenda can be viewed here. Under the topic of Data Collaboration, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a deep-dive on cybersecurity and on Port Call Optimization. The Climate and Energy committee will address the challenges and opportunities of onboard carbon capture, as well as community perceptions of new low- and zero-carbon fuels and ports strategies in addressing this. For the Risk and Resilience committee, soundings will be taken on the potential for revisions to the ISPS Code, and there will be a discussion on the latest edition of the World Bank’s Container Port Performance Index. The Cruise committee agenda will see experts convene for a workshop focused on developing a sustainability accreditation scheme for cruise ports, while the Planning, Operations and Finance committee will review work on public private partnerships, and sustainable infrastructure transformation projects.
