World Ports Tracker highlighted at TOC Europe

Last week at the TOC Europe 2025 CSC live conference, co-author Professor Theo Notteboom presented highlights of the results of the IAPH World Ports Tracker 2025 Sustainability and Market Trends report at one of the opening plenary sessions. The panel brought together experts from Drewry, Container Trade and Statistics, Xeneta and Transport Intelligence to discuss current container trade performance and prospects for the rest of the year and beyond. IAPH member Port Authority of Tenerife also presented its regional perspective. In his intervention, Theo noted the IAPH member survey responses in the report confirming continued plans for expansions in the container terminal segment, and the predominantly positive outlook members had for 2025, which were also reflected in the actual year-to-date figures presented by the other panelists. The experts also expected challenges in the coming months due to the expiry of the moratorium on planned US tariffs on imports, as well as other trade conflicts and geopolitical instability.
