Blue Visby Services Ltd. is engaged in decarbonizing maritime transport by systematically optimizing the ship’s voyage legs in close collaboration with all stakeholders, including ports and terminals. They have developed the Blue Visby Solution, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the maritime industry by about 15%. This will be achieved by eradicating the practice of “Sail Fast, Then Wait” (SFTW), where ships sail at high speed only to wait at ports. Reducing the speed of vessels not only lowers fuel consumption and GHG emissions but also offers additional benefits such as improving air quality around ports, reducing the risk of collisions, and enhancing operational efficiency.
