IAPH has announced the theme and the first speakers for the 2025 World Ports Conference, to be held in Kobe, Japan on 7-9 October. This year’s theme is ‘Reinvention and Prosperity in Turbulent Times’. #IAPH2025 will explore how ports can achieve real growth in an era of geopolitical uncertainty, when supply chain resilience is tested by conflict, the threat of a trade war and climate change. The conference will reveal the ways in which innovative ports are capturing tangible, sustainable investment returns in a high-risk environment – strengthening both their security and their license to operate. Hitoshi Nagasawa vice-president, Japanese Shipowners’ Association (Chairman, NYK), Marika Calfas, CEO, NSW Ports, and Kim Pong Ong, Group CEO, PSA International will all offer their expert perspectives to a global audience of port professionals gathered in Kobe, the birthplace of IAPH.
