On the initiative of Vice-President for Europe Jens Meier, IAPH and Hamburg Port Authority organised an online regional meeting last week for European members. The programme contained an awareness-raising session on cybersecurity and digital trust with presentations by Jens Meier, Catalina Grimalt (Port of Barcelona) and Tom Koehler (KPMG). IAPH President Santiago Garcia Milà gave an update on recent IAPH developments and introduced the organisation’s work programme for 2021. The video recording of the European webinar and all presentations will be made available shortly. More regional webinars will be held in the New Year, with events already planned for ports in the Indian subcontinent, West and Central Africa and South and Central America. The Indian webinar is scheduled for 28 January and will be held in collaboration with the Indian Ports Association. Ports in West and Central Africa will meet on 4 February for a webinar held in partnership with the Port Management Association for West and Central Africa (PMAWCA). On 11 February, the Central and South American port community will have its webinar, which is organised with the support of the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the Organization of American States (OAS-CIP). These webinars will be hosted by our events and media partner IHS Markit. We invite members of the regions concerned to mark the dates in their diaries already, further information will follow soon.
