AI workshop to kick off 2 November TC Day

IAPH’s full-day in-person-only Technical Committee Day will kick off on 2 November with an industry-leading session on AI-related port initiatives. Held at the Hilton London Olympia, the day before the 2026 IAPH World Ports Conference, the TC Day will feature nine technical sessions across three parallel streams, followed by meetings of the three main committees. The parallel session on data collaboration will begin with a 90-minute interactive workshop on ‘Designing Value Measurement Frameworks for AI Initiatives’ led by Simon Savard, innovation project manager – strategy and organizational excellence at the Port of Montreal. The workshop represents an evolution of the work undertaken at the chainPORT Academy in May (pictured) – hosted by the Port of Gothenburg with the support of IAPH – which has been specially adapted for IAPH members. Bringing together participants to collaboratively design KPI dashboards for AI-related initiatives, the workshop will employ a structured design thinking approach, with participants working through a real-world AI use case, identifying relevant metrics, and building audience-specific interfaces that support decision-making. Simon will be supported by Ulrich Baldauf, head of research & development at the Hamburg Port Authority. To book your place, please access the registration form and agenda here. For any questions on the agenda or inquiries about contributing, please contact IAPH director, technical committees Masaoki Shirai.
