With this year’s project submissions for the IAPH Sustainability Awards, the World Port Sustainability Program (WPSP) database is nearing a total 600 projects from more than 200 ports around the world. The quality of this year’s entries is very high, both in terms of presentation and innovative, original content and IAPH again extends its thanks to those members submitting projects for creating a strong level of competition in all six awards categories. This week, the expert jury (about whom you can discover more information here) began its assessment of all candidate projects, a challenging task that involves identifying the top three entries per category; these will be announced by the end of August. The 18 emerging finalists will be subject to a public vote to be launched on the WPSP website thereafter, the outcomes of which will co-determine (weighted at 30%) the final winners. The 2026 prestigious awards ceremony will take place at the iconic Natural History Museum of London, during the Gala Dinner of the World Ports Conference on the 4th of November.
