During his recent visit to Chennai, IAPH president Jens Meier was interviewed for a forthcoming edition of the Indian business newspaper The Hindu Business Line, which has now been published. In a wide-ranging interview titled ‘Integration is vital for Indian ports to hit the big league,’ Jens – who is CEO of Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) – shared his perspectives on the rapid progress of infrastructure projects in India, the need to secure rail modal share and digital integration as well as the opportunity for increased exports between Europe and India. Jens was speaking during a trip in which he led a delegation representing both IAPH and HPA to visit IAPH regular members Chennai Port Authority and Kamarajar Port, accompanied by Ennarasu Karunesan, IAPH regional development director for South Asia.
