The opening of the 2025 IAPH World Ports Conference received significant media attention in Japan, with television station NHK, news organisation NIKKEI and all major Kobe city media outlets present at the plenary opening session. All #IAPH2025 media partners either held interviews ahead of the event or were present in person, with journalists interviewing many of the IAPH board members and keynote speakers and panelists in the press and IAPH VIP rooms during the conference. Japan’s Kaji Press (Daily Cargo News) and Japan Maritime Daily took an active part in the conference coverage. Lloyds List news editor James Baker moderated two sessions with IAPH members on day one, as well as interviewing IAPH president Jens Meier.
