During the 70th anniversary session that ended day one of the World Ports Conference, eight IAPH members were awarded lifelong honorary memberships for their contributions to the association and the industry; three of the honorary members received their IAPH gold pins in person. Retiring council member representing IAPH associate members René Kolman (outgoing secretary general of IADC) received honorary membership. René is succeeded by Allan Gray, former CEO of the Ports of Halifax (Canada) and Fremantle (Australia) and former president of the International Harbour Masters Association. Allan is now CEO of Sentient Ports, an IAPH associate member that had a stand at the conference.
