On 6 October, the day prior to its World Ports Conference in Kobe, Japan, IAPH will be holding a series of in-person thematic working sessions of its technical committees, addressing key topics of interest. Under the topic of Data Collaboration, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a deep-dive on cybersecurity and on Port Call Optimization. The Climate and Energy committee will address the challenges and opportunities of onboard carbon capture, as well as community perception’s of new low- and zero-carbon fuels and ports strategies in addressing this. For the Risk and Resilience committee, soundings will be taken on the potential for revisions to the ISPS Code, and there will be a discussion of the Container Port Performance Index. The Cruise committee agenda will see experts convene for a workshop focused on developing a sustainability accreditation scheme for cruise ports, while the Planning, Operations and Finance committee will review work on public private partnerships, and sustainable infrastructure transformation projects.
