Port Endeavor partners roll the dice in London

Last week, IAPH convened its partners to discuss the ongoing development of Port Endeavor, the exciting and engaging business game created by the association to educate port professionals on sustainability and the application of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in the ports industry. The annual development meeting was held at the IAPH London office in Park Street and was attended by representatives from IAPH, the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) team from TrainForTrade, APEC-Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center, and Port of Antwerp-Bruges International. The meeting saw in-depth discussions on the next developmental steps for the popular game in terms of dynamics, content and dissemination. This is the third annual meeting of the partners since the launch of Port Endeavor in 2021; the game has now been played by more than 1,600 port professionals from five continents. At the meeting, the partners shared experiences of the gameplays they have conducted around the world. There are plans for new content and further enhancements to the game, with both TrainForTrade and APEC offering specialised training content prior to and after gameplay, to enrich the experience of port professionals’ understanding of how the UN SDGs are applied in port strategies.
