Last week, two IAPH Harbor Cafés were held online with the singular aim of identifying the key topics of interest to the membership for 2025. Introduced and summarised by IAPH president Jens Meier and moderated by strategy and communications director Victor Shieh, the sessions first explored the key issues facing IAPH BCO associate member IKEA Supply AG, with a special focus on sustainability. There followed interventions by IAPH experts in each of the key areas of interest of the World Ports Sustainability Program followed by polls to attending members on which key topics they would like to debate and be more informed about in 2025. Among the many topics discussed, key topics to cover next year will include MEPC developments at the IMO, port infrastructure investment risks and opportunities, mutually beneficial community projects, dealing with climate adaptation, the impact of new technologies on ports, managing air quality, and dealing with geopolitical changes. Many thanks to our IAPH member colleagues for their inspirational insights which ensured such a high turnout and poll engagement! If you would like to view the recording(s), please contact Victor Shieh.
