At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, which took place in Hamburg on 7-8 October 2024, concurrent with #IAPH2024, representatives of various ports, international shipping companies, green fuel producers, shipbuilders, financial institutions, terminal operators and logistics companies jointly signed the Hamburg Declaration on the Decarbonisation of Global Shipping. On behalf of IAPH, the declaration was signed by IAPH president Jens Meier. Other notable signatories included IAPH members Port of Los Angeles, Tanger Med Port Authority, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Port of Barcelona, Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) and Port of Yokohama. The Hamburg Declaration includes the cooperation of stakeholders in the maritime supply chain in the establishment of green shipping corridors.
