IAPH engages Indian membership in Mumbai

In the last two weeks, IAPH’s representative for India Ennarasu Karunesan attended both the EXIM BHP-CTL international conference last week as speaker as well as joining IAPH president Jens Meier at the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce reception which took place last night in Mumbai, organised by Hamburg Port Marketing. At the BHP-CTL conference, Ennarasu joined a panel on 15 February which included the chair of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and other senior industry figures on best global practices and sustainability in cargo and multimodal logistics. JNPA also hosted a delegation from IAPH member Hamburg Port Authority this week, which was headed up by IAPH president Jens Meier. Jens also met with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways during his trip as well as with the chairman of the Indian Ports Association Rajiv Jalota, who is also chairman of Mumbai Port Authority. Further IAPH membership outreach is planned at the end of April with IAPH delegation visits and Port Endeavor gameplays foreseen in both Mumbai and Chennai.
