IAPH recognizes and honors excellence in port management and operations through its biennial award program. 2017 IAPH Award program comprises the following five categories.
・Akiyama Award – Open to individuals belonging to IAPH Regular Member Ports in developing countries
・Bali Open Award – Open to individuals belonging to IAPH Regular or Associate Member in any country
・Information Technology (IT) Award – Open to any IAPH Member Organization (Regular or Associate)
・Port Communications Award – Open to any IAPH Member Organization (Regular or Associate)
・Port Environment Award – Open to any IAPH Member Organization (Regular or Associate)
Deadline for submission is December 31, 2016 and the award presentations will be made at the 30th IAPH World Ports Conference in Bali, Indonesia, May 7-12, 2017. Details are posted online at https://www.iaphworldports.org/award
IAPH Training Scholarship
As financial assistance program, IAPH Training Scholarship is also available to assist IAPH member ports (Regular members) in developing countries to undergo advanced and short-term (a week or so) port training courses/seminars at IAPH-affiliated training institutes overseas. For each calendar year, US$10,000 is budgeted to cater to two scholarships per US$5,000, which should be used to cover tuition (course) fee and, if deemed necessary, international air travel (economy airfare).
