Busan Port Authority (BPA) was established in January 2004 to contribute to the national economy by fostering Busan Port as a global shipping and logistics center. Despite difficult domestic and foreign conditions such as the downturn in the shipping economy and the bankruptcy of Hanjin Shipping, we are the sixth in the world to achieve 20 million TEU of containers. BPA intends to further strengthen the competitiveness of Busan Port through timely expansion of new port infrastructure in preparation for changes in the global shipping environment, early activation of the North Port redevelopment project, enhancement of port operation efficiency, and creation of a smart port.
