IAPH/IHMA PCO Guide to be unveiled at IMO FAL 50

Delegates at the 50th session of the IMO Facilitation Committee (FAL 50) 23-27 March are invited to attend a very special lunchtime presentation hosted by IAPH and the International Harbour Masters Association (IHMA). At lunchtime on Monday 23 March in the IMO’s Main Hall, attendees can learn about how ports and shipping have united to standardise port call data, advancing safe, efficient and sustainable berth‑to‑berth navigation. Produced by the IAPH and the IHMA with the endorsement of 40 industry associations, the Guide for Harmonized Communication and Electronic Exchange of Nautical and Operational Data for Port Calls will be unveiled by Patrick Verhoeven, IAPH managing director, Ben van Scherpenzeel, project officer of the IHMA, and Ingrid Boqué, director of institutional relations, Port of Barcelona (and chair of the IAPH Technical Committee on Data Collaboration). The Port Call Optimisation (PCO) Guide represents an industry milestone, and an unprecedented collaboration between recognised IMO NGOs representing ports and shipping: a framework and guide that standardises core port call data, advancing safe berth‑to‑berth navigation. Join Patrick, Ben and Ingrid at lunchtime on Monday 23 March in the IMO Main Hall to learn about the definitive PCO guide for ports and shipping!
