Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC) manages Sohar Port and Freezone, a major deep-sea port and adjacent free zone in Sohar, Oman. SIPC is a 50:50 joint venture between the Government of Oman and the Port of Rotterdam. The port is strategically positioned between Dubai and Muscat, making it a key hub for global trade routes between Europe and Asia.
Sohar Port handles various cargo, including dry, break, and liquid bulk and container shipping. The free zone spans 4,500 hectares and has attracted significant investments, exceeding $27 billion.
The port and free zone support industrial activities such as petrochemicals, metals, and energy sectors.
