IAPH CEOs at Hamburg Sustainability Conference

On October 7, the day before the IAPH 2024 World Ports Conference, the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) will be held at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. This invitation-only event is being organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and the Michael Otto Foundation. It will bring together heads of state, government officials, and decision-makers from international institutions, the private sector, civil society, and academia. Invitations have been sent to CEOs of IAPH member ports who are also invited to attend the session on Green Shipping, scheduled 15:00-17:00 on October 7th. This high-level panel will include the IMO secretary general Arsenio Dominguez, the IAPH president and Hamburg Port Authority CEO Jens Meier, the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as other senior representatives from the international maritime sector. Two agreement signings are planned: a government-level declaration and the ‘Hamburg Declaration,’ which aims to expand Green Shipping Corridors, involve additional supply chain stakeholders and ensure necessary support for successful implementations. The full program can be found here. We kindly ask IAPH regular port member CEOs to check their email for invitations sent in August, including their spam folders. If you have not received an invitation, please contact Ingrid Boqué at Hamburg Port Authority. For further information, please check the conference website.
