Prefectural government of Niigata is a port management body which is responsible for 1) formulation of port development/management plan, 2) construction and maintenance of port facilities, 3) permission for and restrictions on facility use in port management districts, 4) leasing and management of port facilities, 5) setting and collecting fees for use of port facilities, etc. for Port of Niigata, Port of Naoetsu, Port of Ryotsu, Port of Ogi, Port of Iwafune, Port of Teradomari, Port of Kashiwazaki, Port of Himekawa, Port of Akadomari and Port of Hutami.
