Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) administers Jawaharlal Nehru Port, located on the west coast of India. The port is the busiest container port in India and handles around 50% of the total containerized cargo volume across the major ports of India.
Currently, the port has five container terminals, namely, The NhavaSheva Free Port Terminals (NSFT), Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT), the Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd. (GTI), Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT), and Nhava Sheva (India) Gateway Terminal (NSIGT). In addition, the JNPA is also developing a satellite port at Vadhvan, located north of Mumbai, and four Dry Ports – Jalna, Wardha, Sangli, and Nashik to promote the industrialization of the hinterland.
