The Santos Port Authority (SPA) is the public entity responsible for managing and administering the Port of Santos, Brazil’s largest and most important seaport. The port is located in the city of Santos, in the state of São Paulo, and is owned by the Federal Government of Brazil.
The Port of Santos is the largest port in Latin America and one of the most significant gateways for global trade in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2023, the port handled approximately 173 million tonnes of cargo and around 5 million TEUs, accounting for close to 30% of Brazil’s total foreign trade by value. It connects Brazil to more than 600 ports in over 200 countries worldwide.
