Two IAPH webinars delivered earlier this month outlined how ports can prepare themselves against cyber-attacks. Attracting hundreds of attendees, these live webinars set the scene for further debate at #IAPH2024. If you missed either session, there are on-demand recordings of both the Tuesday 10 September session and the Wednesday 11 September session. Moderated by Ingrid Boqué (global strategic networks officer, Hamburg Port Authority) and Victor Shieh (strategy and communications director, IAPH), and with introductions by IAPH president Jens Meier, the two 90-minute interactive webinars featured contributions from a number of port cybersecurity experts, including Ram Levi of Konfidas, Matti Suominen and Stephen Mills of Wärtsilä, Tony Zong from Port of Los Angeles, Chin Beng Ong of the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore, Jérôme Besancenot of HAROPA and Francis Donkoh of Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority. Gadi Benmoshe, vice-chairman of the IAPH Data Collaboration Committee, concluded with an update on submissions to the IMO on the topic and the revision of content for an update of the IAPH Cyber Security Guidelines for Ports and Port Facilities.
