We are pleased to announce that Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPK), has joined the IAPH as a regular member.
SMPK, whose former name was Port of Kolkata, was renamed in 2020. It is the oldest port in India and India’s only major riverine port, with around 232 kilometers long channel from the sea. It has a vast hinterland, the entire northeastern states of India, and its neighboring landlocked countries, Nepal and Bhutan.
