IAPH Mid-term Board Meeting
Mumbai, India
9-12 April 2006
The 4th Mid-term Board Meeting of IAPH was held in Mumbai, India, 9-12 April 2006, hosted by Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Mumbai Port Trust and Indian Ports Association.
Attended by some 80 people from 25 countries, including 23 IAPH Board Members, the meeting discussed a number of household matters, including the 2007 Houston Conference. Among decisions made were:
- The Board approved and endorsed the appointment of Mr. Jean-Claude Terrier (Dunkirk, France) in Africa/Europe Region and Capt. Abdul Wahab Al Diwani (Abu Dhabi, UAE) in Asia/Oceania to the Executive Committee (Exco), based on their regional elections taking place shortly before the Mumbai meeting.
- The Board confirmed the dates and venue of the Exco Meeting 2006 as 9-12 October 2006 in Shimizu Port, Japan.
- The Board approved and endorsed the conference program and registration
fee for the 2007 Houston Conference, as proposed by the Conference Vice President
Argentina James. *

Prior to the Board sessions, group meetings of technical committees were held
on Monday, April 10. The technical tour to the ports of Mumbai and Jawaharlal
Nehru was such an excellent occasion for the participants to learn and observe
first-hand the current status of the two ports serving as the principal gateway
to India and a hub port in the region.
