IAPH joined Yokohama Maritime Forum

YMFFocusing on sustainability, diversity and harmonisation, discussions at the Yokohama Maritime Forum (YMF) were dedicated to topics such as environmental challenges, gender balance and diversity, LNG as marine fuel, maritime pollution and governance. IAPH Managing Director Patrick Verhoeven joined his peers of the main shipping trade associations ICS, BIMCO, Intertanko and CLIA in a panel discussion on the effectiveness of IMO regulations (photo). Patrick also moderated a session on port communities during the second day of the Forum, which compared the experiences of the ports of Yokohama, Vancouver and New York in pursuing pro-active sustainability policies. The session also featured an introduction of the IAPH CMS project by its working group chairman Peter Alkema (Port of Amsterdam).
