IAPH regional meeting held in Kobe

Hosted by the Port of Kobe, the IAPH Asia, South/West, East and Middle East Region met in Kobe, Japan for its second regional meeting this year since it met in Baku, Azerbaijan in May. It was attended by more than 60 IAPH members in the region. The region covers such a wide geographical area extending from Japan in the east to Saudi Arabia in the west.

 

As chair of the meeting, Mr. Masaharu Shinohara, IAPH Vice President for the region and Executive Officer of Kobe-Osaka International Port Corporation, welcomed the participants and introduced guest speakers. Representing the Japanese government, Mr. Naruaki Hisada, Director of International Policy Planning Office, Ports and Harbors Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport & Tourism, he extended his warm welcome to the participants and mentioned that he looks forward to active discussion here in Kobe – a historical international port city in Japan.
