Tianjin Port is an important international trade port in North China and the gate of Beijing to the sea, the capital of China. It mainly handles import and export business for Beijing, Tianjin and the provinces and cities in North, Northwest and part of northeast of China.
The development targets of Tianjin Port is to turn itself into a multi-functional, comprehensive and diversified international modern port integrating transportation, trade, commercial business, financing, coastal industries, tourism, free trade and service into one entity.
By the year of 2010, the throughput is expected to reach 300 million tons and container volume of 10 million TEUs.
