Suited in the south of the Pearl River Delta, Guang Dong Province and the eastern bank of the Pearl River mouth, Shenzhen Port borders on Hong Kong. Nine operational terminals include Shekou, Chiwan, Mawan, Dongjiaotou, Yantian, Fuyong, Xiadong, Shayuchong, and Inland River terminals. And a new container terminal, Da Chan Bay Terminal One, comes on stream in the end of 2007.
According to the Master Layout Plan of Shenzhen Port, Shenzhen Port is to become an international container hub port in South China and a major hub port in the national comprehensive transport network. The container traffic of Shenzhen Port reached 18,470,261 TEUs in the year 2006, which continued to rank No.4 in the world.
