Located at the heart of the Pearl River Delta, Ports of Guangzhou have been playing an important role as the gateway to South China. The Ports have achieved a rapid growth for the annual throughput in the last decade. To cope with the development of local economic society, the Ports sought to undertake a number of expansion projects. Nansha Project Phase I have been put into operation in Sep. 2004, and phase II had accomplished. Six container berths have been put into operation in Sep. 2007. Nansha Port Construction is deemed to be the new economic engine for Guangzhou City and Ports of Guangzhou.
