Facilities:
The Port is located just minutes from down town Nassau; therefore passengers have access to some of the most renowned retail stores in the world as well as the native flavor of The Bahamas. Facilities include telephone services, customs and immigration depot, bunkering, tug services, pilots, internet connection (available downtown Nassau) and many other facilities. There are also a number of banks and financial institutions located downtown Nassau.
The Nassau Port Authority has responsibility for the management of the majority of the coastal marine resources throughout the territorial waters of The Bahamas inclusive of publicly owned port facilities and operations.
As the Port of Nassau is one of major cruise ports in the world, The Bahamas Government has made tremendous investment into the infrastructure at the Port of Nassau to ensure that the cruise ships of the future can be accommodated at the Nassau Port Authority. Additionally the Authorities have also made it more welcoming to cruise ship operators by passing such bills as the Cruise Ship (Overnight) Incentive Act. This gives concessions to operators that remain in port for a specified amount of time.
