London celebrates the IAPH's 50th Anniversary
with HRH The Duke of York
On the evening of March 10, some 120 people
comprising those attending the IAPH
Africa/Europe
Regional Meeting co-hosted by the Port
of
London Authority and the Associated
British
Ports and other guests representng
the London
maritime circle gathered at the Somerset
House in London to celebrate IAPH's
Golden
Jubilee in the presence of HRH The
Duke of
York.
As the UK's Special Representative for International
Trade and Investment, the Duke delivered
a congratulatory address stressing importance
of role of a port in the world trade context,
as well as of its publicity widely to the
general public. IAPH President Pieter Struijs
and Secretary General Satoshi Inoue presented
the IAPH Golden Jubilee commemorative plaque
and the bound edition of new "Ports
& Harbors" March inaugural issue
plus a special gift to the Duke.
