Located at Leizhou Peninsula, the west of Guangdong province, Port of Zhanjiang is the main gateway for imports and exports from the central and western regions of China. Five modes of transportation including highroad, railroad, waterway, pipeline and airway have met here. The Port occupies an important strategic position in the Asian-Pacific Circle and Pan-Pearl-River-Delta Economic Circle.
Up to this date, the 300,000-tonnage crude terminal has put into operation, and the 200,000-tonange ironstone terminal will be officially put into operation in November 2005. The 300,000-tonnage channel-dredging project will be completed in 2005. And two new container berths will be constructed in the near future. After the completion of these projects, Zhanjiang will be proud of the unique deepwater channel and large-scale specified terminals in south China and the port will develop into a modern, multi-functional and comprehensive mega port with highly developed port-related industries.
