Central Queensland Ports Authority (CQPA) is a Government Owned Corporation that manages and operates effective and efficient port facilities and services in the Port of Gladstone and Port Alma. At the end of 2007, CQPA Port of Gladstone completed a major expansion project which increased R G Tanna Coal Terminalfs (RGTCTfs) throughput capacity from 40 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to more than 70 Mtpa and the Barney Point Coal Terminal (BPCT) was expanded from 5Mtpa to 8Mtpa. The RGTCT Expansion Project included the construction of a third rail unloading station, construction of a third shiploader and upgrade of current shiploading conveyor streams, construction of five additional stockpiles, and construction of a fourth berth. BPCT Expansion Project included the upgrade of its coal receival and shiploading capacity.
